Younger Toddlers
(1 - 2 years old)
Our toddler classrooms are designed for curious explorers eager to learn. At this stage, every step they take means they’re discovering new things, and we ensure their environment is both safe and fun for these daily adventures.
You trust us to care for your child when you can’t, and we take that trust seriously. While our days are filled with fun and laughter, our priority is always health and safety.
Our top priority is your child's safety.

Kid's Eye Level
Everything in the toddler classroom is kid-sized! From shelves to toys, everything is placed within easy reach, so your little one can choose their own activities. Whether it’s grabbing a puzzle or building with blocks, they have the freedom to explore their world independently.
Photos and Labels
Our classrooms are filled with photos and visual cues to create a warm, welcoming space. Pictures of your toddler’s family help build a sense of community, while visual labels guide younger toddlers to navigate the room confidently. These familiar touches make their surroundings feel both safe and personal.
Hands-On Learning Stations
Our younger toddler classroom features engaging learning stations designed for hands-on exploration. Whether stacking blocks, fitting shapes, or playing with sensory toys, these areas encourage independent play and discovery, helping toddlers develop fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities.
Group time
Each day, our toddlers gather for group time, where they come together as a community. It’s a moment to chat about the day, sing songs, and enjoy a read-aloud story with their friends.
Meals and snacks
Toddlers enjoy nutritious meals and snacks packed with healthy fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains, giving them the fuel they need to stay active and engaged.
Outdoor Playtime
Weather permitting, toddlers get outside for 20–30 minutes at least twice a day. Outdoor play is a highlight, where they can explore, move, and grow their physical abilities.

Younger Toddler Curriculum
At Kiddie City, our toddler curriculum encourages exploration and growth through activities like art, block-building, and reading. We support each child's unique interests and developmental stage, helping them discover new passions as they play and learn.
Building Brain Power and Strong Bodies
Toddlers engage in activities like sorting, counting, and measuring to grasp foundational science and math concepts. We build their focus and memory with consistent routines and support their physical milestones, such as walking or rolling a ball.
Learning About Feelings and How We Express Them
As toddlers develop relationships with their peers and teachers, we support their emotional growth by using engaging activities and discussions about feelings. This helps them learn to identify and express their own emotions, as well as understand and empathize with the feelings of others.
Talking More and More
To support language development, we encourage toddlers to use new words and express their needs through pointing and vocalization. Early literacy skills are practiced with activities like scribbling on paper and interacting with books.
Expressing Themselves
Toddlers explore creative expression through activities such as molding clay, dancing to simple songs, and engaging in movement. This helps them develop their creative skills and express themselves in new ways.
Classroom Activities
Every day, our dedicated teachers lead toddlers through age-appropriate, engaging activities. Here are a few examples:
-
Animal Homes - Toddlers use blocks to build cozy spaces for their stuffed animals. This activity encourages imaginative play and basic problem-solving skills.
-
Car Prints - Toddlers dip toy cars in safe, washable paint and roll them over paper to make colorful patterns. This introduces them to concepts like cause and effect in a fun way.
-
Simple Digging - Toddlers explore a sensory bin filled with safe, soft soil. They use small tools to dig and discover bits of nature, like leaves and pebbles, enhancing their sensory experience. textures and everyday items.
